OVERVIEW

Mount Kilimanjaro, a stratovolcanic dormant volcanic mountain in Tanzania, towering to an elevation of 5895m With this height it is termed as the highest/tallest free-standing volcanic mountain in the world. Among the largest volcanic mountain with a base of 80km. There are 7 routes for climbing this magnificent landmark feature of which you should choose routes with varying degree of difficulty and time on the mountain. All of your climbs are custom outfitted for each climb party. Your private group will have its own guide, porters, chef who are accounted for your smooth and satisfactory hike. Depending on which route one wants to take, the climb of Kilimanjaro can take between 4-7 nights of the mountain. The most popular routes are Marangu and Machame, though sometime crowded. No technical equipment is required on these routes, Marangu and Machame, though on the Marangu route, accommodation is in Alpine huts while on Machame route it is camping throughout. MARANGU (6DAYS/5NIGHTS)

Marangu is the most popular route by name COCA-COLA route because the route is popularized as easy and cheap, the only route that offers sleeping huts in dormitory style bunk beds. It's scenic due to ascent and descent of same route and a gradual slope. Even the unexperienced and unprepared climbers can hike. The 6-day radiant provides goodtime for acclimatization due to a rest day at HOROMBO HUT. Communal during hall, washrooms, and toilet are available. Make sure you bring enough of your own water, soft drinks, beers and many more making your hike to be more comfortable.

MACHAME ROUTE (8DAYS/7NIGHTS)

Machame route is one of the great routes for acclimatization with lots of walk high, sleep low opportunities, though a challenging trek it has stunning scenery through the Kilimanjaro mountain 5 diverse climatic zones. It also has beautiful forest. A popular trail and second most popular route and also somewhat easier. It is best route you should take both in terms of acclimatization and costs. This route has a favorable climatic condition act as a magnet to many trekkers providing to them a conducive environment.

UMBWE ROUTE 6DAYS 5NIGHTS

Umbwe is steep, short route, very remote and quiet, it has beautiful forest though poor in acclimatization due to rapid ascent of all the routes. Umbwe is by far the most scenic albeit steeper route up the mountain, being steeper made this route very physically taxing and requires serious, experienced and enduring trekkers hence termed as the dangerous route. The route is evergreen all year round and experiences much rainfall in the course of the year, scenic traverse to Barafu.

LEMOSHO ROUTE 11DAYS/10NIGHTS

This is the longest up Kilimanjaro, being lengthy, less traffic and also provides more acclimatization time than other routes. Its acclimatization duration contributes to it being the highest summit sickness rates a dream of every climbers is to make it to the UHURU PEAK. RONGAI ROUTE (7DAYS/6NIGHTS)

It is also known as Nalemoru route, the only northern approach route to Mt. Kilimanjaro. A very remote route but wild, offers a true wilderness experiences on the early stages of the climb, good for acclimatization because of the number of days. This route is moderately difficult and it’s highly recommended especially for those with less backpacking experience, this route is less frequented because of it being less scenic and very tough final summit night from the north. SHIRA PLATEAU ROUTE/MORRUM BARRIER ROUTE

This route is used for 8 days group trek via the northern circuit, a preferred route over all other routes for its wilderness character and low foot traffic. This route starts high over 12000m but on longer climbs offers the chance of easy/fair hiking from the start, here fewer tourists are encountered especially when choosing the remote northern circuit route. A start from MORUM barrier gate offers the choice to continue on the southern circuit, northern circuit or western breach but its best done via the northern circuit. All routes to Mt. Kilimanjaro are worthy to use the only thing which differs among the trekkers is their interests and the desire to appear different from others.
