- Depending on which route one wants to take, the climb of Kilimanjaro can take between 4-7 nights on the mountain. The most popular routes are Marangu and Machame, though sometime crowded.
- No technical equipment is required on these routes, Marangu and Machame, though on the Marangu route, accommodation is in Alpine huts while on Machame route it is camping throughout. Worry out as you will be accompanied by our experts throughout your adventurous trek.
MARANGU DAY TRIP
Mandara hut is the first camp from Marangu gate. It also known as Coca-cola route. Walking will start at Marangu gate (1900m.a.s.l). It is an hour drive from Moshi town. Experience the serene and untouched nature of Montane forest where Mandara hut is located on the border of the forest belt, just below the maundi crater.
After covering montane forest, you will shortly enter the health and moorland vegetation which is characterized by endemic flora. At Maundi crater you will be able to witness the magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro along with sightings of varieties of birds, primates, trees and flowers.
The trip provides excellent exploration of montane forest, streams heading downward to rural and urban of Moshi.
After an early breakfast morning drive to Marangu gate from Moshi, after registration at the gate, you will start trekking heading to Mandara hut and enjoy your picnic lunch, after then continue to Maundi crater, when the weather is clear you will get a nice view of Lake Challa, Lake Jipe, Usambara Mountains and Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Trails are well established that give excellent trekking.
Descending to Marangu gate and drive back to your hotel.

• TIME: it takes 30-50 minutes’ drive from Moshi, 2-3 hour drive from Arusha city Centre, 1-2 hour from KIA.
• GETTING THERE: from Arusha, KIA, and Moshi drive on the surfaced road to Marangu gate.
• CLIMATE: the weather condition around the mountain varies greatly depending with the season of the year though it can be climbed all year round.
