SELOUS (Nyerere National Park) is actually Africa’s largest stand-alone national park, the park is situated in south-eastern Tanzania. It’s approximately 235km from the city center of Dar es Salaam to Mtemere gate. The park was carved out from the great Selous Game Reserve, a huge wilderness area and safari destination in southern Tanzania. This new park established in 2019 boasts of a wealth of wild animals and wildlife in general. Southern parks being less frequented its animals still act wild and have no familiar characters with human as compared to other big parks of Tanzania. Mega carnivores and mega herbivores are in plenty, plan your jaunt for an inoubliable memories, boating, game drives, village visiting, walking safaris, hot air balloon safaris, sundowners, bush meals and nature hikes will leave you enthralled.
Mikumi - the park near Morogoro and Dar was established in 1964, covering an area of 3230km2 making it be the 4th largest park in the country, and it’s crossed by Tanzania A-7, highway, the park borders Selous game reserve, on the south, the 2 areas forming a unique ecosystem. The park belongs to the circuit of the wildlife parks of Tanzania less visited make the place remains virgin, with its land often compared to that of Serengeti. This park hosts a wealth of fauna which have the characteristic of the African savanna. Birds, eland, giraffe, kudu, hippo, zebra, balloon, wildebeest, buffalo etc. are all found here, together with the parks beautiful sites that gives you a once in a life time experience.
SAADANI- a park gazzeted in 2005, encompasses a well preserved-ecosystem including the former Saadani game reserve, the Wami River, Zaraninge Forest and the former Mkwaja Ranch area known as where the “beach kisses the bush”. Saadani national park is the only known wildlife sanctuary in east Africa to boast for an Indian ocean beachfront, sometimes sunbathing sessions might be interrupted by an elephant strolling past, or a lion coming to drink at the nearby water hole. Plan your jaunt to this park and get to relish the palm trees as they sway in a cooling oceanic breeze with its dangling and trailing feather like leaves, white dazzling sands and blue water sparkle alluringly beneath the tropical sun, traditional dhows sail slowly through with the Swahili fisherman controlling the expeditions keeping the ocean alive with their whistling, chanting, murmuring and net casting. Saadani has much to offer, from a wealth of both flora and fauna to rivers, ocean etc. Boat trips, guided walks, game viewing (wildlife viewing), swimming, Saadani fishing village visit, among other all will jault your emotions in a positive fashion.

ITINERARY DETAILS

DAY 1

Upon your arrival at JULIUS KAMBARAGE NYERERE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JKIA) DAR ES SALAAM or from the hotel at Dar es Salaam you will be met at 07:00am by a member of DASSIE SAFARIS team who will transfer you by road to SERENA MIVUMO RIVER LODGE in Nyerere National Park, with lunch box within.

DAY 2

On reaching to your accommodation relax from a strenuous drive, drive into the swimming pool to cool off, with late afternoon boat rides. Enjoy meals and overnight stay at the lodge.

DAY 3

After a hearty breakfast at lodge at around 07:30am, drive to MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK, VUMA HILLS CAMP with lunch box within. What we love about the lodge is its location, set along the river bank, has writing desk, staff with bubbling personality and an outstanding service with game viewing en-route to CAMP. Enjoy meals, dinner and overnight stay at camp.

DAY 4

After a warm breakfast at the camp at around 07:30 am, start a full day game drive within Mikumi national park, with lunch at picnic site. Enjoy all of what Mikumi has to offer. After lunch start a short game drive then embark to camp Enjoy meals, dinner and overnight stay at camp.

DAY 5

After a hearty breakfast at the VUMA HILLS CAMP at around 07:30am, drive to SAADANI SAFARI LODGE in SAADANI NATIONAL PARK with lunch box within. What we love about the lodge is its professional staff, reliable and outstanding services, clean and spacious rooms, all in all is to make you enjoy your stay. DAY 6

After a hearty breakfast at lodge at around 08:00 am, start a full day excursion within the PARK. Enjoy all of what the park has to offer, from a healthy population of wildlife, lifers, River Wami, the Indian Ocean and different activities may be conducted here, game viewing (wildlife viewing), boating, bird watching, walking safaris and many more will leave you happily forever. Enjoy lunch at picnic site, after lunch do a short game drive then embark to lodge, for dinner and overnight stay at lodge.

DAY 7

After a hearty breakfast at lodge at around 09:00 am start a drive back to Dar es Salaam with lunch box within, drop off to either hotel or transfer to airport for departure. End of service
