MOUNT KILIMANJARO -SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK 15DAY /14 NIGHT
MOUNT KILIMANJARO The highest mountain in Africa, and the highest single free- standing volcanic mountain in the world. Towering to an altitude of 5895m above the sea level and about 4900m above its plateau base. This stratovolcanic mountain massif is found within Kilimanjaro national park. It has 3 volcanic cones KIBO (dormant), MAWENZI and SHIRA (DEAD) Machame route is one of the great routes for acclimatization with lots of walk high, sleep low opportunities, though a challenging trek it has stunning scenery through the Kilimanjaro mountain 5 diverse climatic zones. It also has beautiful forest. A popular trail and second most popular route and also somewhat easier. It is best route you should take both in terms of acclimatization and costs. This route has a favorable climatic condition act as a magnet to many trekkers providing to them a conducive environment. Nicknamed whiskey route because it’s popularized as somewhat difficult and more demanding though it has short distances from one camp to the other.Our crew will be there for you ensuring everything is going on well as planned while giving you relevant explanations and interpretations about the mountain and anything of interest encountered while on trek.
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, also a wide heritage site and recently proclaimed a worldwide wonder, its famous for its annual migration where millions of herbivores traverse through the 30000km2 Serengeti-Mara ecosystem plodding in clockwise direction looking for green pasture, termite mounds may be seen towering the plains, large buttressed fig trees, lots of predators prowling the plains, large granite rocks, the kopjes where rock hyraxes and lizards to scuffle around a host vantage points for the meat eaters as well as sunbathing stations. A park hosts the highest density of lions and home to big five mega carnivores and mega herbivores.
ITINERARY DETAILS
DAY 1
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), you will be picked by a member of DASSIE SAFARIS and transferred by road to hotel or similar for dinner, an overnight bed and breakfast.
DAY 2
MACHAME GATE [1640M/5380FT]-MACHAME CAMP [2850M/9350FT]
After a warm breakfast at the hotel in ARUSHA transfer to MACHAME GATE for registration and trek expedition begun from this point.

At this very point you will get to enjoy all of what the beautiful rainforest has to offer, from flora to fauna.

DAY 3
MACHAME CAMP (2850M)-SHIRA CAMP (3810M)
You rise early at Machame Camp and after a hearty breakfast continue your trek to the next camp, here you pass through the heath and moorland zone, lunch on the trek, after a short break continues again to Shira Camp through Shira Plateau. At this point you will get to catch a glimpse of the mountain.

DAY 4
SHIRA 2 CAMP (3810m)-LAVA TOWER (4630m)
The route now turns eastwards into a semi desert and rocky landscape surrounding lava tower. At this point you each an attitude of 4630m after about 7 hours walk.
This is the toughest day of all of the first 2 days hike, lunch will be served while on the trek, most hikers will start to experience a great change of difficulties of being exposed in high altitudes, the challenges being headaches, irritabilities and breathing difficulties. After then descent from lava tower to barranco camp for dinner and overnight stay. At this camping ground there are great opportunities for photographing the scenic landscape and thrilling sunsets.

DAY 5

DAY 6
KARANGA CAMP (3995M) to BARAFU CAMP (4673m)
After a hearty breakfast at the camp continuing with the trek to the next camp, arriving there in the mid-day, get an ample time to acclimatize and checking all of the gears while eagerly waiting for the next climb which will take you to the final destination the summit.

DAY 7
BARAFU CAMP (4673m) to UHURU PEAK (5895m)
You will rise around 2330 hours and after hot tea and biscuits, you shuffle off into the night. At this point you will be heading towards STELLA POINT on the crater rim, here you will get a chance to rest and you will be rewarded with breathtaking sunrise and snow, after then proceed to the summit.
On reaching the summit, the final point, the duration of stay in this point depends on the weather condition though we advise not to spend much time as it will accelerate fatigue levels due to extreme cold.
At this point you will get to celebrate experience of the lifetime ever by making it to the Africa’s highest point.

After enjoying and celebrating, start to climb down with some rests at barafu camp, assembling all of your gears then proceed down to mweka camp.

DAY 8

DAY 9
After a warm breakfast at the hotel at 0800am, transfer by road to FOUR SEASON SAFARI LODGE in Serengeti National Park. Enjoy lunch at picnic site and dinner and overnight at lodge. What we love about the lodge is their internationality outstanding and reliable services, an elegant spa and an infinity pool promising a luxurious respite during your African adventures. Enjoy Ngorongoro Conservation Area en-route while driving to Serengeti National Park.
DAY 10
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, it’s a full day resting relaxing and socializing in the lodge, relax at pleasure with Meals and overnight Stay at lodge. .
DAY 11
After a warm breakfast at lodge at around 08:00am, start a full day game drive within Serengeti with lunch at picnic site, explore the central Serengeti in advance and enjoy its very best sub destinations including the retima hippo pool where seronera and orange rivers converge, the pool is a home and refugee to large pods of roughly 200 swashing, playing hippopotami. Seronera river valley, moru kopjes among other places in central Serengeti gives you a sense of being fully immersed in the African wilderness. After lunch do a short game drive while driving back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at four season safari lodge. .
DAY 12
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge at around 8:00 am, drive and do a full day game drive in the northern Serengeti, lobo valley and other northern Serengeti sub destinations, lobo valley “paradise” is one of the only places in the park where all three big mega carnivores do roam, the lions, leopards and cheetahs respectively. During the wet spells the great migration pass through this area adding the taste of your stay in this very point. Bologonja springs tucked away in the north-east corner of the Serengeti near the border of Kenya’s Masai Mara nature reserve and this is a magnet to animals (July/November). With lunch at picnic site, after lunch drive to NIMALI LODGE for dinner and overnight stay. What we love about the lodge is its accessibility and reliable services. .
DAY 13
After a hearty breakfast at NIMALI LODGE at around 08:00 am, do a game drive en-route heading to the parks’ western section (western corridor) along the Gurmeti River, a river teemed with pods of hippopotami and large aggressive penile crocodiles siting anxiously await the migrating herds crossing for a guaranteed meat feast. The river meanders through the western corridor to the west of the Seronera river valley. The migrating herds will stop at nothing, though the predator’s triggers fear and panic but this isn’t enough to deter them.
Enjoy lunch at picnic site, after lunch do a short game then drive to ELEWANA SERENGETI PIONEER CAMP for dinner and overnight stay.
What we love about ELEWANA SERENGETI PIONEER CAMP is that is specifically designed to have limited impact on its natural surroundings, its actually and ideally situated to offer superb access to the annual migration and the big 5 with sweeping views overlooking Olmorue Kopjes, Lake Magadi and the endless plains. DAY 14
After a warm breakfast at ELEWANA SERENGETI PINEER CAMP at around 08:00 am, drive and traverse through the southern Serengeti plains, a place rich in wildlife. Endless plains dotted with kopjes where some living organisms find shelter, refuge, viewing points and sunbathing stations. With lunch at picnic site then embark to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 15
After a hearty breakfast at the camp at around 08:00am, transfer to airport and connect with your international flight back home. End of services
